The Joy Of Music Gear Today
There are many types of music gear around today compared to what was available in the '60s and ‘70s. Before this the only type of music gear available for the budding guitarist was that if he wanted reverb, he played in a big room, if he wanted echo, you joined two tape recorders together, running slightly out of time, if you wanted vibrato, you rigged up a motor to more or less vibrate the guitar’s bridge.
Be glad you are a guitarist today, and not back then, when music gear was big, cumbersome, and very prone to breakdown. Sometimes considered the most important piece of music gear is the amplifier. This bit of music gear only really came into being in the early 1960’s and over the decades has become indispensable. |

Audiobook Benefits
Audiobooks have become a popular choice for many people today, They are easy to use and mean that instead of having to sit down to read a book, you can now listen to one while doing other things. My Audiobooks allow me to carry on doing the ironing, cleaning and cooking whilst listening to my newest novel.
It means that I don’t have to feel guilty for reading my book, as I can do all the things I need to do whilst listening to my Audiobooks and not having to sit down to do it. Audiobooks are becoming more and more popular which means that there is now a greater selection to be found in most major book sellers shops. They are also very popular with the elderly and infirm who through health problems are no longer able to read in the normal way. |

Design College Fashion Shows
While at college the budding fashioner designer will have had many projects to cover, in the final year they will complete their last project. This is called the “final collection” and should be built on all the successes the student has had over their years at college. It could quite possibly be the range which launches them into the professional world.
This last project will be written by the student entirely and composed of drawings, fabric selections and any other relevant data and then presented to the teaching staff of the college and on many occasions to external examiners also. Others may also be invited to discuss the student’s presentation and final garment selection and it can also be used as a “press release” to send out to the media, potential buyers and employers.
At this final stage of the fashion course the student will have identified the market and the type of person for whom they would like to design. A fashion show is put on by the design college in the final year of a course. This will differ from an established designer show who uses their shows as marketing tools to show potential buyers and the press a preview of their collection before it goes public.
The fashion designer in their final year of college will have fellow students, college staff, parents and possibly a sprinkling of sponsors as their audience. If they are lucky they may even be attended by manufacturers on the lookout for new employees with fresh ideas to bring to their company. The main outcomes to achieve at the end of the final-collection project are to experience the critical pacing of the workload involved in putting on a show, and the ability to focus and present a cohesive range that is both creatively exciting and relevant to your future aspirations. |

Interior Design Is A Great Adventure
Decorating a room and devising a design should be seen as a great adventure. No designer knows in advance how a room will look once the design is complete. No two rooms are entirely the same, even the professional designer is sometimes surprised by the results, and what looks good and works in one room, may not in another.
Experimentation is part of the thrill of being an interior designer, and a few errors of judgement are beyond reprieve, often requiring little more than the juggling of furnishings or an additional coat of paint to put right. Interior design is and always will be an area of great debate and choosing a style for your home may cause great dilemmas, however, it should also be considered as a source of immeasurable pleasure and satisfaction when you look upon the finished product. |

Dexter Season 3 Episode 7
In Dexter Season 3 Episode 7 Miguel offers Dexter a new potential victim, but after properly vetting her, Dexter isn’t sure she fits the Code. When he informs Miguel of this, he reacts with anger, making Dexter believe the new friendship is in danger. An old sickly friend of Dexter’s, Camilla, reinforces this idea, when she asks Dexter to help end her life, insisting she would never ask a friend to do something against his conscience. Meanwhile, Rita finds out that Sylvia is beginning to suspect her husband, Miguel, is having an affair. Debra ends up revealing to Anton that he is being used as bait to lure the Skinner, forcing her to find new way to find the Skinner. As a result, Anton realizes Debra cares for him more than he thought.
The main character of this series is Dexter Morgan who'll charm fellow officers with a doughnut, wile away a Sunday with his girlfriend Rita, or chop up a victim and package their body parts in plastic bags. Hiding beneath the mundane exterior and contrived façade of Dexter, a charming blood spatter expert for the Miami Police Department, is an obsession with meting his own twisted brand of justice: stalking and murdering the guilty. |

Watch True Blood Episode 10
In True Blood Episode 10 screened on Sunday the relationship between Sam Merlotte and that damn dog is finally revealed. Here is the synopsis of True Blood season 1 episode 10 called “I Don’t Wanna Know”.
Sam divulges a secret to Sookie. Tara finally see’s Miss Jeanette’s true intentions. Sookie has visions that disturb her at an engagement party. Jason and Amy wonder what to do with Eddie. Bill is faced with a harsh punishment but the magister has other ideas involving a human Jessica.
If you haven't yet had a chance to watch True Blood the makers HBO describe it thus; "In the not-too-distant future, vampires have come out of the coffin. Thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood, vampires no longer need humans for their fix, and can walk freely, if not yet quite comfortably, among their living counterparts – though they can still come out only at night." |

Entourage Season 5 Episode 10
This weekend past we reached Entourage Season 5 Episode 10 in which we see stern advice from Verner, the demanding director of “Smokejumpers,” unnerving Vince. According to executive producer Mark Wahlberg, Entourage was initially conceived when his assistant asked to film him and his friends, calling them "hilarious". Other reports credit Eric Weinstein, a long-time friend of Wahlberg's, with the idea of filming the successful actor's group of friends. In order to be more satirical of the Hollywood lifestyle, a fictional approach was chosen rather than a straight documentary.
Vincent Chase, the show's main character, was envisioned to be more similar to Wahlberg, but it was decided that some of his and his friends' activities (particularly some elements of their criminal past) would not work well on television. A lighter approach was subsequently decided on. |

Heidi Klum Guitar Hero Video
Activision pulled out all the stops for the October 26 release of Guitar Hero World Tour with some ads featuring well-known celebrities. Each ad features the celebrities dancing about in their underpants and doing their best Tom Cruise impression to Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll" while playing different World Tour instruments or lip-syncing.
The latest shows supermodel Heidi Klum manically jumping around, putting her heart and soul into her performance - bless her. The Heidi Klum Guitar Hero Video is not the worst, yet not the best in the series and it will be interesting to see who they come up with next as Activision CEO Bobby Kotick explains: "To appeal to the multi-generational Guitar Hero fans out there we tapped a wide range of athletes, actors, and even supermodels to unleash their inner rock stars and live out their rock and roll fantasies." |

Vince McMahon Celebrates 800th Episode of RAW
Vince McMahon has one of the longest-running shows on U.S. television with wrestling series "RAW," and last night celebrated the 800th episode of the show.
RAW owner and chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon acknowledges the success of the long-running show is due more than just putting on a professional wrestling match. He compared it to a variety show with elements of action adventure, soap opera, rock music and pyrotechnics.
"When you think about the old years of two guys wrestling in the ring, that's not exactly what we are now," he said. "This is a very unique form of show business, and it's an ever-changing form of show business, ... And there's no reason it won't continue."
RAW is shown on the USA cable network, averaging more than 5 million viewers a week making it the No. 1 weekly show on cable TV. Now in its 15th year RAW is just as popular abroad, particularly in the UK where it commands a huge following.

Legend of the Seeker finally made it to our TV screens this weekend to much acclaim. Here's how the makers of the Legend of the Seeker describe the main characters.

Rocky Horror Picture Show
One of the best nights out I have ever had was to see the stage version of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. It was one of the most entertaining shows I have ever been to, and one of the wettest. To get a ticket for the show you had to agree to dress up as one of the characters and to participate in all the singing that was part of the show.
If you are a fan of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, you will know that the secret to achieving absolute pleasure is getting involved and the best way to do this is to get hold of some props and follow the instructions in how to use them. At the beginning of the film two of the main characters are getting married. When they appear on stage as newlyweds and then exit at the church you should throw rice at the stage.
Two other props that will come in handy are newspapers and a water pistol. Brad and Janet, the newlyweds are caught in a thunderstorm, when you hear this you should shoot your pistol at the stage, you will find it useful now to put your newspaper on your head otherwise you will end up rather wet! Other props include flashlights, rubber gloves toilet paper toast and confetti and a few other things that I’ll let you discover for yourself. |

Halloween 2008
Halloween is a strange holiday in that it seems to celebrate some of the darker aspects of life. Whether or not we fully understand the origins of halloween, the vast majority of us see it as a time to have some innocent fun with our families
It's also an excuse to bring out our normally hidden creative side - making decorations, carving up pumpkins, dressing up in weird costumes and even arranging complex fireworks displays. With all that's going on in the financial world it would be easy to forget halloween 2008, but I think we owe it to our families and ourselves to make use of occasions like this to lighten up our lives. |
